This month, our cover of the month was submitted by Pam R. of Manteno, Illinois. As you can see, she created a magazine cover for Jim Popp who was dubbed "Hunter of The Year"! For the past 9 years, American Idol has brought great entertainment to television viewers and helped young singers with amazing talent to reach their dream. Have you ever had writer's block? I have had it plenty! It is quite frusterating when you are sitting there for hours trying to think of something to write and nothing comes out. A lot of people have come up with different suggestions on how to cure writer's block, such as:

I LOVE to scrapbook! I made my first scrapbook as a gift for my boyfriend for our one year anniversary. My brother is a senior in college and is graduating this May. Being a recent grad myself, I can understand what an exciting, scary, and fulfilling moment it can be all at once. Because his school is too far away for most of the family to attend the actual ceremony, I thought it would be a cool idea to do something special for him to let him know how proud we all are (even if not everyone is there cheering him on). I came up with a unique personalized gift idea that I thought I'd share...
I decided to help my mom out by creating the invitations for the event. Most college grads-to-be, if not all, take a cap and gown photo early in the year. My brother already had his done (for the yearbook). I decided to take this photo and make a photo magazine cover. The front cover would highlight all of his favorite activities and accomplishments, while the back cover would serve as a place to put the party information such as place, time, RSVP, etc.
This personalized gift idea is great because it serves so many purposes. Not only is it an invitation, but it's also a keepsake for friends and family to admire and frame!

Here's how I made my invite!
1. It's very important that you have a good quality photo when you make a cover because the higher the resolution, the better the cover. An account is great because you can start working on a cover, save it, and then come back to finish it later on if you don't have time to do it all at once. Eyes were glued to the TV set all weekend while fans eagerly watched how Tiger Woods would do at the Masters this year. After months of Tiger's heavily publicized affairs, many wondered if this would affect his game. Tiger may have drawn in a large audience this year, but the winner of the 2010 Masters Golf Tournament, Phil Mickelson made it a tournament to remember.
Movie scripts could not be written any better than this year's 2010 Masters Golf Tournament at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.
I am not a huge golf fan, but my dad and my brother both play quite a bit. I've dabbled and it really isn't as easy as it looks. It takes true athleticism, patience, and concentration. The tournament this past weekend provided many moments of inspiring play by all of the golfers, but most especially by Phil Mickelson, who on Saturday recovered a five hole deficit in only 30 minutes by making an eagle-eagle-birdie. If you don't know what this means, that's okay. It means it was probably the most exciting and incredible moment in recent golf history.
What makes this this story even more amazing is the fact that Phil and his family have been struggling with a constant battle against breast cancer. His wife and mother were both diagnosed last year. He overcame his struggles and made a huge comeback that was both inspiring and captivating.
I thought I'd take this moment to congratulate Mr. Mickelson on his achievement and commend his perseverance.

Depending on who your special guy is [it could be your husband, boyfriend, brother or father], I'm guessing they might just be the hardest person to shop for! Finding birthday gifts for guys is not an easy task. I'm speaking from experience, as I dread every Birthday, Father's Day or Christmas to shop for my Dad. He is impossible to buy for and I don't even know where to start!One Birthday happened to be the easiest however, when I created a personalized magazine cover in celebration of his 50th Birthday. Customizing each headline to his likes & dislikes was so much fun and easy too! I especially liked doing this because I was able to poke fun at him a little bit.
